Privacy Policy

Remise — Fencing Journal · Effective 18 August 2026

The short version. Remise collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Your journal stays on your device, and in your own private iCloud database if you choose to turn on sync. We cannot see it.

Information the app collects

None. Remise has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no server. Nothing you enter — bouts, notes, opponents, lessons, combinations, your name, club, or USA Fencing ID — is transmitted to Eldra LLC or to any third party.

Where your data is stored

Your journal is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad using Apple's on-device database.

If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your journal is additionally stored in the private database of your iCloud account, so that your own devices can share it. This is handled entirely by Apple. Eldra LLC has no access to that database, and no other user of the app can see it. Turning sync off stops further changes from being uploaded. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Network connections

Remise makes network requests to one place: fencingtracker.com, and only when you ask it to — by searching for a fencer or importing your results.

Those requests contain the name or fencer identifier you are looking up, and, as with any ordinary web request, your device's IP address is visible to that site. No part of your journal, your notes, or your personal details is included. fencingtracker.com is an independent service not operated by Eldra LLC, and its own privacy practices apply to what it receives.

The app works fully without ever using this feature; every record can be entered by hand.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

There are none. Remise contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier and does not track you across apps or websites.

Children

Remise is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your control over your data

Because your data never leaves your control, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on your behalf. You can:

Export everything at any time — Settings → Export (JSON, CSV, PDF, RTF).
Delete individual records, or all of them, from within the app.
Delete the app, which removes the on-device copy.
Remove the iCloud copy from iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above will change with it. Any change that affects how data is handled will be described in the app's release notes.
